Rubytone was born in 2010 when he had the idea to make a built-in-amp guitar out of whatever he already had around. Since then, he has reattempted this well over 100 times, continually trying to out-do the previous ones. Along the way he has developed a ton of repair skills added to those he acquired since the 80's in an apprenticeship with a luthier in Madison WI. The Rubÿtone concept includes recycling old and broken instrument parts, upcycling various other old and new things and assembling parts of anything to arrive at a one-of-a-kind instrument that has magnificent tone, is fun to play, and inspiring to look at.
